 | I hate movie theater seats. After reclining in the new nice cushiony ones (that can be wiped down) I’m always extremely disappointed and uncomfortable when they have the old seats. I stopped going to Theaters because of the cellphone users, the Self-Entitled people. But it was also because they started showing commercials before trailers and then prices went WAY up.  | I used to work in a for a cinema chain (What you guys in America call a movie theatre) and the part concerning movie hopping (What we call screen jumping in the UK) I found extremely interesting. One of the fumiest incidents which I came across concerning movie hopping was when I was watching a movie and three guys came in and sat right next to me in the alleyway near my seat. What they weren't aware of at that time is that I was an off duty manager who worked at that cinema at the time and I just finished my shift. I then turned to them and asked them quietly, (because the film was playing at that time) "Excuse me, do you guys have your cinema tickets", they said "no". I then replied saying "Well I have some bad news for you boys, I do actually work here get out ".  | The theater i was on the management team for we flipped seats to clean once a week and wiped down seats & sprayed with disinfectant every night & wiped down seats between each movie & turn around time is normally 10-35 minutes so had pretty high clean scores. If you have a great team of people that love what they do things get done well. Using movie theater popcorn butter as lube doesn't sound like a bad ideal if it's just oil so it won't dry out like water base and it tastes good and vegans no need to worry since it's not real butter which I am not at all surprised because I use to make garlic bread in a bakery department and that garlic spread is not real garlic butter (just vegetable oil shortening like Crisco mix with food chemicals and food dye to give it that yellow appearance) and I totally agree in a empty theater, find your own space, don't just sit next to a total stranger, that is weird.  | I worked at Regal when I was in high school. My most memorable moments: 1.Sofa King. A bro came to the lobby with his couch and asked if he could bring it to the auditorium to sit on during the movie. Of course he wasn't allowed, but bless him for trying. 2.Batmam. A lady unleashed a purse filled with bats inside a pact auditorium on a Friday night. One of my co-workers was bitten and had to get a rabies shot. 3.Epic Fail. Our manager accidentally screened Black Hawk Down inside a Monsters Inc. auditorium. A few minutes in, a very angry mom and her crying child stormed out and screamed at the manager. He started crying and left for the day. 4.The Phantom Pisser. Once a week, like clockwork, we would find a courtesy cup (free water cup) filled to the brim with urine in the cupholder of the seat inside one of the auditoriums. Plus these theater owners typically make truck loads of cash so it's not like your making anyone poor.  | As far as outside food goes, my thinking during my decade of popcorn slinging was: 1) If you can't bring it in discreetly, GTFO. So tucked in your purse, IDGAF. But you might end up wearing the pizza if you think you can bring in a large pizza box by me like I'm Helen Keller. 2) Don't draw attention to yourself in the theater. If a guest comes up complaining about you loudly eating or how fragrant your food is, we don't have plausible deniability any longer and have to actually care. 3) I don't get paid by KFC, Taco Bell, or McDs, so you need to clean up your crap if you sneak it in. If you take care of the evidence coming and going and in between, no one going to notice the problem, and you get to smuggle your snacks in another day. But no liquor.
